Servi – NSF Certified

Servi is NSF-Certified by Your Local Department of Public Health, and We’re Celebrating that Victory.

When it comes to robots, a lot of clichés come to mind. Many people start by thinking back to the glory days of NASA and the new American space race – when The Jetsons were regulars on our television sets and sci-fi franchises like Star Wars set the standard for safe, helpful companions like R2D2 and C3PO.

But have we ever asked what safety and sanitation standards these sci-fi characters would have had to comply with? Well, now there is a standard of safety and sanitation for robots in restaurants, and it starts with Servi. Our latest iteration of Servi proves just how far robots can go in terms of guaranteeing that your customer-facing robots will meet health department rules in the US and Canada.

Our NSF-Certified Robots Give Restaurant Owners Peace of Mind

At Bear Robotics, our robots have been tested by today’s most respected independent product testing organizations.  Our latest Servi model is perhaps our greatest example of the extremes we’ve gone to in ensuring everyone who encounters one has an experience that is not only exceptional but also up to health department rules. We now have the NSF certification to prove it.

We are proud to announce we’ve created the only front-of-house restaurant robot in existence to achieve certification by NSF International, or National Sanitation Foundation. This is a huge milestone in standards of safety, health, and compliance for our field.  While there are many patents and endorsements that go into producing a product like Servi, NSF certification is one we’re exceptionally proud to have because we now produce the only front-of-house robot of its kind to receive this certification that is the standard for restaurant equipment safety and sanitation.

So What is NSF International?

Since 1944, NSF International has been dedicated to protecting and improving global human health by ensuring products are not harmful to both the business sector and the consumer public. To ensure the highest safety standards, NSF International employs a professional staff of engineers, microbiologists, toxicologists, and health experts to assess and certify everything from air purifiers to cutting boards to dishwashers to sinks, and now robots.

The NSF mark is perhaps the highest assurance of health compliance on the modern American market and is trusted by everyone from consumers to corporations in ensuring top quality as well as total safety.

What Makes for an NSF-Certified Robot?

With Servi, we’ve completely covered all bases of public health compliance.  From sanitation standards to food contact safety, we’ve taken every precaution in ensuring our service solutions like Servi are in top shape with safety and sanitation being key features. With advances in water ingress protections, Sevi features water-resistant surfaces which make it super easy for quick sanitation and cleaning protocols. Simply wipe down with your favorite sanitation solution and send Servi back to work.  Servi is also completely pest resistant, giving critters no hope of making a home.

Servi is the Restaurant Robot Industry’s Gold Standard for Food Safety and Sanitation

Having the NSF certification is paramount for restaurants with robots and automation that may come under an audit by your local Department of Public Health. During inspections, the health department will run an intensive audit of any piece of equipment inside your restaurant. This includes anything from your ovens to your server robots.
Without the NSF safety certification, a restaurant may be required by health departments to either remove the uncertified equipment or pause its operations on the basis of these violations. This is the last thing a restaurant owner needs to worry about. We highly recommend proper safety certification in all equipment of your restaurant – and especially when it comes to tools that interact with your customers.
