Servi Takes Ireland and We Couldn’t Be More Excited

Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, Bear Robotics is excited to announce Servi has made landfall in the Republic of Ireland. As the island’s first service robot, our flagship hospitality innovation Servi will introduce Ireland to superior service by alleviating repetitive work and helping hospitality workers with errands like running orders and bussing tables.

Last year, we made Ireland our official European headquarter, and as of now, we have officially deployed Servi robots across the region. The first Servis have been installed in a high-end hotel – The Glenroyal in Maynooth, Kildare. With a rapidly growing hospitality and tourism industry, Ireland is rife with opportunities for innovations like Servi.

Ireland’s Tourism Industry Is Taking Off

Ireland is quickly becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. With incredible attractions such as the Cliffs of Moher, the Wild Atlantic Way, Wicklow Mountains National Park, and an abundance of castles, pubs, and world-class hotels, it’s no wonder so many people are flocking to this one-of-a-kind destination.

In 2022 alone, over seven million people visited Ireland, creating 24,000 open jobs within the hotel and food service industry. Between 2018 and 2023, the hotel business has remained exceptionally steady with 1,576 hotels in the country. In fact, in 2020, Ireland generated around $4.16 billion in the tourism sector alone, this accounted for approximately 46% of all international tourism receipts across Northern Europe.

However, this global destination has also experienced the effects of worker shortages. In fact, Ireland just had to increase the minimum wage by 80 cents to €11.30 per hour to address the scarcity of labor across all sectors. According to data from the Bank of Ireland, staff shortages continue to especially impact hospitality operations. The increased summer rush, combined with returning COVID-19 cases, will continue to present operational hurdles to hotels, bars, and restaurants in the short to medium term.

Robots to the Rescue

Thankfully, Bear Robotics is here to alleviate staffing shortages by introducing automation solutions like Servi. In doing so, we intend to help our European friends create elevated hospitality experiences as their tourism sector takes off. Whether it’s assisting restaurants, pubs, senior living facilities, or entertainment venues, our automation solutions are perfect for alleviating repetitive work and allowing service professionals to focus on creating unforgettable experiences for their guests.

“I’m delighted that Bear Robotics’ European Headquarters is in Ireland,” says Malachy Ryan, Head of Sales EMEA with Bear Robotics. “We plan to make a big impact across all European service and hospitality spaces in the next few years. More robots are scheduled to be deployed across Ireland and Europe over the next three to four months. We are scheduled to deploy robots with four- and five-star hotels, as well as restaurants and senior living communities across the country.  Bear Robotics is responding to what the market needs by solving some of its biggest problems. We believe our robots are going to make a huge difference both for guests and the staff who will have a much better experience serving them. Over the last few years, Europe has experienced significant staffing shortages in the hospitality sector. We want to bring the best service possible to businesses in these industries and elevate their customers’ experiences.”

What’s Next?

With an established presence in Ireland, we’re excited to see where else we can provide solutions across Europe. We’re currently anticipating an expansion to Germany and are actively looking for partner distributors to help spread the word on smarter service solutions.
